National School Finals

5 young players from Bishop Auckland Table Tennis Club took part in the National Schools finals in Wolverhampton on the 29th of April.  the younger players all found eventual medal winners in there way,10-year-old Charlotte Higgins making her Table tennis debut outside of Bishop Auckland put up a brave fight but was up against it playing much more experienced girls than her with 2. In the under 13’s Amy Mold finished 3rd in her group winning 3 matches and losing two. Both the girls lost to players who would go on to win medals. Unfortunately, Edward Sett had to withdraw from the under 19 boys which left Max Duffin and Jake Haygarth to represent the boys.  Max Duffin won 4 in his group to make it to the last 16 before losing out. Jake also won 4 in his group and lost 1 like the girls to an eventual medal winner before losing out in the last 16, in 3 close sets to Gene McGhee
