Top Marks for Table Tennis Club.

Bishop Auckland Table Tennis Club this week has shown its commitment to more than just producing good table tennis players having been re-awarded Clubmark status.

Clubmark is Sport England’s accreditation scheme for community sports clubs and shows that clubs meet higher standards of welfare, equity, coaching and management while providing the right environment which ensures the welfare of players.

An accredited Club is recognised as a safe, rewarding and fulfilling place for participants of all ages as well as helping parents and carers know that they’re choosing the right club.

The process has had an upgrade which now sees more evidence and detail needed to get the accreditation while also moving online.

“The club first got Clubmark back in 2013” said Chair Matt Porter “were delighted to have got re-accredited and it highlights the excellent work the volunteers do to make sure everyone is welcome and looked after”

Bishop Auckland TTC became the first Table Tennis Club in the North East to achieve the New Clubmark status and one of only a handful of club in England.
