National Junior League Day 2

6 of December saw the 2 Bishop Auckland National Junior League Teams start round 2 of the season. Bishop Auckland A, Sitting pretty on top of the table had a day of tough matches ahead while Bishop B were looking to make up ground on the A team.

The A team of Zak, Tom, Carl and Rob started the day with a 8-1 win over second placed Blitz B from Lincolnshire. With Zak and Tom both winning 3 from 3. The B team Started with a 6-3 loss to Northumbria with Joe Hume Picking up two wins and one for Sam Hume.

Last year’s winners Northfield were up next for the A team with a strengthen team from the first round of matches, With games not going the right way for Bishop With Northfield coming out on top however Carl Draper scored a Fine win over Joe Cope. The B team also found going tough losing 9-0 to Ormsbey c who had also strengthen, with a strong Chinese playing coming in.

Last up for the A team was Northumbria with Bishop A scoring a 7-2 win with Zak Hutchinson winning man of the match scoring 3 out of 3 with Rob Renton and Tom Whittaker picking up 2 each. The B Team played Blitz who were too strong and Bishop were a player down with Erin Harrison having to withdraw through injury. End score 8-1 Blitz.

This Leaves the A team in Second place going into round 3 and the B team in 8th with some ground to make up to make the top 5 and the first division break away at the end of the next round of matches
