Bishop Auckland BTTAD Para Grand Prix

Home Disability Success for Bishop Auckland Table Tennis club.

On the 22nd of November Bishop Auckland Table Tennis Club hosted a national Para Table Tennis tournament. The event had players from all over the country including Sheffield, Hereford, Burnley as well as local players.

Bishop Auckland and Class 11 player Ben Robinson was in good form since returning from the Special Olympics in Bournemouth with a good medal, and managed to take home 3 silver medals.

Ben started the day making his way through Class 11, losing out in the final to British number 2 Adam Gittings.  Ben then partnered up with Alex Bland from Rotherham in the doubles, beating the 2nd seeds and winning their group they went all the way to the final where once again Adam was waiting who, with his partner, was too strong for Ben and Alex and they came away with silver. The last of Ben’s medals was in the Band C. With some great attacking play he picked up wins over much more experienced players to reach the final where he lost to Zoe Castle from Hereford.
