Cramlington 2 Star Success

31st of October saw Bishop Auckland Table Tennis Club take a squad of 13 players to take part in the Cramlington 2 star.  The entry of 40 players saw BATTC have over 30% of the total entry. The day started well with unseed Sam Hume reaching the U15’s boys final where he lost to team mate and top seed Peter Smallcombe. Peter continued his form by also winning the u13’s where he again knocked out club mate Luca Pontone in the semis. Luca’s Brother Leo Pontone finished 3rd in the u11 boys. The junior’s events saw Bishop really take control. Alex Dickons and Kieran Bowes in only their second tournament reached the quarter finals of the junior boy’s plate event and Abbey Maddison reach the Semi of the Girls plate event. The main event saw Lee Tinker reach the quarter finals before Bishops Rob Renton beat him to set up an another all Bishop match with Jack Jacomb in the semi-finals. Rob again came out on top to meet Peter in another final, with Peter coming away with the victory and the hat trick of titles
