BIshop Auckland Bribar 2 star club Report

The 9th Bishop Auckland Bribar 2 star took place on the 17th of April at Bishop Barrington School the Home of Bishop Auckland Table Tennis Club.  The under 11 events saw Anya and Luke both come runners up with Joe Sparke getting 3rd in the u11 boys.

The Cadet Boys saw James Neal had a good win over Rhys Davies to Reach the Semi-finals just like Peter Smallcombe who had knock out Sam Hume and Max Duffin on his way. Luca and Leo Pontone and Adam Hanby, Who scored a fantastic win over Luke Robinson in the group, all made it to the last 16 also. The plate event saw Troy Maddison and Kieron Bowes reach the Quarter finals with Hayden Gilmour reaching the Semis before losing to the eventual winner.

Five of the 8 quarter finalist in the junior boys were Bishop Players, With Ed Sett, Troy Maddison and Lee Tinkler all going down in the last 16. Jack Jacomb, Rob Renton and James all went down at that stage with Sam and Max going on the semi-finals with max going on to just miss out in the final.

The plate saw Carl Draper return to the sport to reach the plate final before losing Hayden Gilmour, Alex Dickons and Kieron Bowes all reached the last 8 with Kieron coming very close to making the last 4.

Abbey Maddison reached the Semi-finals of the Junior Girls plate event and Anya matched this in the u13’s main event including a victory over Lucy Gent.  

Peter Smallcombe finally overcame his home venue jinx taking home the under 13’s title, Luca Pontone and Adam Hanby both reached the quarter finals with Luke Mitchell reaching the last 16.

Leo reached the Semis of the u13’s plate event with Matthew Pearson and Joe Sparke reaching the last 8
