2016 just keeps get better for Bishop Auckland Table Tennis Club. Having been crowned Table Tennis England’s Club of the 2016, beating every other club in the county for the prestigious title in March, along with winning both the National under 15’s League and National under 18’s League both title winning teams going unbeaten throughout the season. April saw the £30,000 hall renovation project at Bishop Barrington School officially opened by chairwoman of Table Tennis England Sandra Deaton on top of picking up many individual titles and caps for the county teams.
To add to the growing list of achievement’s the club has now won the Mid Durham and Dales Junior Sports club of the year, this is the Second time the club has won the award since the club founded in 2012.
“This award really means a lot to the club, as its local people who nominate and local people who sit on the panel, which shows that the objectives of the club are being met, which is offering the community pathways and opportunity’s to achieve in table tennis. The fact local people have picked us means they know the opportunity’s we provide and everything the members have achieved” – Matt Porter Chairman.
The club now goes forward to the county wide finals held later this month.
