Table Tennis Master class at Bishop Auckland.
Parents and carers couldn’t thank the coaching and organising team enough at Bishop Auckland Table Tennis Club’s most recent training camp which saw world-class players leading sessions and activities which saw young players head from as far as Cardiff and Edinburgh to join young players at Bishop Auckland Table Tennis Centre: “Thank you all on your three-day training camp. Thanks again and well done. To all at BATTC. Thank you” K Wray, parent.
The camp was headed-up by table tennis legend Des Douglas. Des, a former world number 7 and European top 12 winner was joined by Fabio Mantegazza, former Italian number 3 and current over 40 national champion, and Gavin Evans, former Junior European champion and u21s National Champion.
40 young players worked incredibly hard to improve their game; working on their footwork, serves and point winning whilst receiving the benefit of having the best possible role models who brought experience as well as new ways of thinking. All of which the youngsters can use to better their game play and attitude.
“The camp was a huge success, each and every player really worked hard to get as much out of the camp as they could” Said Matt Porter” having Des Gavin and Fabio on board to help the young players was fantastic they really helped everyone with their experience and different ways of thinking”
