Two medals out of two!

Our head coach Ryan was down in Slough on Saturday for another Para Grand Prix event. Competeing in both the class 8 and Band B events.

Ryan Had a strong start to the day defeating a couple of difficult players including Welsh player Jacob Wicks who had improved from the last comp. Ryan managed to progress out of his group in Class 8 as the runner up and face Paralympic champion Aaron Mckibben. After some close points Ryan lost in 3 ends 11-6,11-,5,11-,3, to take his Bronze medal.

The afternoon saw the start of the banded events A, B, and C. Higher players in band A, Ryan played in the B group and started strong with another win over a previous opponent, this time with a pimpled bat instead. Ryan's second game was against another tricky player Bailey Page, who had recently changed rubbers from pimples, and played with a different style to what Ryan was used, however Ryan adapted well and claimed a 3-0 victory to progress into the semi finals.

The semi finals brought another unorthodoxed player Adam Sharp. who Ryan had struggled against before. However after some strange points, Ryan managed to defeat adam in 4 ends to reach the Final against his training partner Josh Hill. The final went right to the wire and 5 sets. Ryan emerged the winner after a 9-11,9-11,11-9,11-7,11-8,  5 set thriller.
